Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has targeted a £3.5million deal for Portsmouth midfielder Marc Wilson, according to the Daily Mail.The transfer would depend on whether the Premier League change their mind and allow the cash-strapped club to sell players outside the transfer window.
Portsmouth are reportedly £60million in debt and facing a winding-up petition from HM Revenue and Customs in the High Court early next month.
The Premier League however, revealed on Saturday that they would not allow the troubled club to sell players outside of the transfer window.
It is understood that fellow top flight clubs want Portsmouth to go into administration before the Premier League offers the south coast side any financial help to survive.
